EMPTINESS

"EMPTINESS" is a college booklet that explores the aftermath of the Hong Kong protests that lasted for over two years. While the city has returned to its normal state, there is a lingering feeling of emptiness no matter where you go. To capture this emotion, I used film photography to document various moments throughout Hong Kong and assembled them into an IKEA instruction booklet, which I renamed "EMPTINESS."
In addition to my photography, I also incorporated images from magazines to create collages that further convey the sense of emptiness that pervades the city. By combining these different visual elements, I hope to offer a unique perspective on the aftermath of the protests and explore the emotional impact they had on Hong Kong and its people.
